Christianity Born of Judaism?
A friend recently wrote the following to me: For a research project I was looking through a book for children on my shelf, entitled The Jewish People (Book II), published in 1952. There’s a section in the book entitled The Birth of Christianity. There it states, “Then, from the town of Nazareth, there came a Jew called Joshua, or, as he was later called in Greek, Jesus. He was a great teacher and had many followers………In time, many non-Jewish ideas were added to the teachings of Jesus, particularly by one of his disciples, Paul, and a new religion was born. Out of Judaism, the religion of the Jews, came Christianity, the religion taught by the disciples of Jesus….” I thought you might find this interesting.
This is an interesting tidbit from 67 years ago, that seems to be closer to the truth than the narrative that is told today. There are still errors, however. For one, the town of Nazareth did not exist when Jesus was born. Instead of being “from Nazareth,” he was “a Nazorean.” The Nazoreans were people who were very attentive to follow their spiritual principles in exacting measure. Next, the religion was not so much “born,” as it was created by Paul, an agent of the Roman powers, to portray Jesus as a figure who was accommodating, and even supportive, of state powers, as explained in Chapter 6 of Divine Or Demoniac?. And the disciples of Jesus were actually opposed to the idea and teachings of “Christianity,” a philosophy created by Paul – who was never actually a disciple – Paul. Jesus and the actual disciples taught the Eternal Religion of the Vedas, while Paul – a demoniac element who, backed by State power – destroyed Jesus’ true teachings, supplanting them with half-truths and sentimental ideas.
